The Young Photographers Competition is now closed for 2019. Look out for details for 2020!
The Ham Fair competition for Young Photographers is an opportunity for local young photographers to display their talent and to win an exciting prize.
The photographs selected by the judges will be displayed in the Art Marquee at the Fair, with stickers on those awarded 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Highly Commended.
The gallery will be enjoyed by the children, their family and friends, and also the community as a whole.
We are looking for photos that are interesting and artistic. We want photographers to demonstrate their creative skills in choosing and composing pictures as well as their technical skills in using a camera.
Young people, up to 16 years old, can submit up to 3 photographs that they have taken in Ham or the surrounding area. These could be of the scenery, wildlife, buildings, pets, flowers, or anything else that makes an interesting picture. Use your imagination!
Photographs can be in colour or black and white. They can be up to A4 in size and must be printed, or mounted, on card or stiff paper so that they can be easily displayed on a picture board.
Write your name, age and contact telephone number on the back of the photograph. You may also write your name and age on the front (not your telephone number) if you wish so that visitors to the gallery know that the photograph is by you.
Photos will be judged by local professional photographer Paul Mowatt. Judging will be in three categories according to age; up to 8 years, 9 to 12 years and 13 to 16 years.
The first prize winners in each of age group will receive a family photo-shoot voucher from Venture Photography, Other winners will be awarded certificates.
Prizes will be presented in the Art Marquee at the Fair at 3pm.
